IBM opens 6 CoEs in Maharashtra |

IBM has established IBM Centers of Excellence (CoE) at six technology and engineering colleges in Maharashtra.
These educational institutions are Sinhagad Institute of Technology - Pune, International Institute of Information Management - Pune, Maharashtra Academy of Engineering - Pune, Walchand College of Engineering - Sangli, Sardar Patel Institute of Technology - Mumbai, and Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering (NMIMS University) - Mumbai.
CoE is a result of IBM's Academic Initiative that covers 2,000 educational institutes worldwide. Each of these CoEs will help the students to learn skill sets on IBM's software products viz. DB2, WebSphere, Lotus, Rational, and Tivoli. IBM will provide its products as well as training faculty at each center. The colleges will take care of infrastructure and high end systems.
Anil Menon, VP - Channel, Marketing & Ecosystem IBM India/South Asia, said, "The IT world is competitive and dynamic. This calls for constant upgrading of skills. Through Centers of Excellence, IBM will give students an opportunity to test and develop their skills."
