The national channel confederation, Confed-ITA plans to conduct its third annual summit in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. The event's dates are February 20-21, 2010 and the venue fixed is Fern Hill, Sterling Holiday Resorts, Ooty.

The two-day event will have seminars and workshops on the latest technologies, vendor-presentations on new products and services, interactive sessions between vendors and partners, and an entertainment package for the participants. Simultaneously Confed-ITA has also announced the election of a new committee.

In the year 2009, Confed-ITA expanded its channel representation as a few new associations became its members. Currently the national channel confederation has 19 associations as its members. This includes channel associations from Chennai, Cholamandalam, Coimbatore, Delta districts, Dindigul, Erode, Kanyakumari, Karur, Madurai, Namakkal, Nilgiris, Pondicherry, Salem, Theni, Thirunelveli, Tirupur, Tiruchirapalli, Tuticorin, and Vellore.

During this year's summit, the confederation will review its operations and the plan for the next year. The new committee members will assume their roles starting with the summit. The new office bearers are as follows:

New Team for 2010-11

President: S Prakash (Salem IT Association)

Treasurer: Ramachandran (Kanyakumari Association)
Secretary: B Kuberan (Tiruchirapalli)
Jt Secretary: M Kumaran (Vellore)
Jt Secretary: Mu Natarajan (Coimbatore)

"The theme for SUMMIT and for the new team is Partnering to Progress," comments S Prakash, Confed-ITA Chairman - SUMMIT 2010 and President Elect in an email. Through this event, he adds, the national channel confederation will focus on, "improving relationships within associations, distributors and vendors. Organizing an event for a crowd of this size is always going to be an uphill task. We will go uphill (Ooty) and achieve it once again."

Prakash informs that Confed-ITA is in talks with all the major vendors and distributors for sponsorships and that there will be ample exhibit space for new product-launches.
