Bangalore-based Frontier Business Systems has set up a Green IT facility in Bangalore, at an estimated investment of $4 million (Rs 19.5 crore). This Green building that will host its 'Green Data Center' occupies a total area of 14,000 sq ft and houses its 250-plus employees.
Ravi Verdes, Founder and Director, Frontier Business Systems informs that the new facility follows high standards in aspects like indoor air quality, energy conservation, and water efficiency. "We have applied a Gold Certification from Leed (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) for Commercial Interiors (CI) from the US Green Building Council (USGBC) for this facility and will be getting it soon," he informs. Frontier now plans to evangelize the concept of Green IT to help companies improve operational efficiency, to control rising costs, and to improve speed and resiliency. "Through live customer engagements, we will assess the existing IT Infrastructure of the clients and based on the assessment findings recommends phased methodologies for transforming and optimizing their data center," mentions Verdes.
Frontier has also introduced a 'Go Green' suite, a consulting service and blue print comprising best practices to help organizations to assess and address methodologies of creating 'Green Buildings' and 'Green Data Centers." As part of its 'Go Green' strategy, Frontier recently added Virtualization Consulting Solutions and Services across entire spectrum of servers, storage, network, application platforms. "We promote a 'Virtualization Vision' which emphasizes running virtual infrastructure as a platform and the preferred VMware Authorised Consultant-Gold partner in Asia South region," Verdes says. With a strategic focus on Green IT, Frontier expects to steer clear of recession. Its last year's revenue was in excess of Rs 200 crore.
